Person of Interest - 'Honour Among Thieves' and 'Point of Origin'

Shaw is back in her element this week
After breaking up with her former crime buddies over their sloppy timekeeping, Shaw gets an intro to a much more professional crew whose former tough girl has by chance just been arrested by Fusco and Bear (who has an active couple of episodes ahead.) This crew are on a steal-for-hire job, and their leader is the team's latest number, suggesting that he is going to kill someone. It turns out, however, that he is the victim, as his crew turn on him, having been made a better offer for the 'package', a lethal bioweapons virus.

Also, this subtext is rapidly losing its sub.
As Team Machine manoeuevre to keep the package from its would-be buyer, a complication emerges: A Northern Lights team, operating on instructions from Samaritan, are tasked with sanitising the area, retrieving the virus and handing it off to a courier. Fortunately, one of the agents recognises Shaw and - already having doubts about Research's new direction - lets her disappear the virus and the thief, who opts not to stick around and join Team Machine just as Shaw opts not to join him in a Butch and Sundance (pre-Bolivian) retirement plan. Unfortunately, his attempt to hide his actions actually alerts Samaritan, which begins trying to reconstruct the largely obscured face of this unknown enemy.

Oh yeah; that's a professional interest.
Still attempting to prove that he's not a cop on the edge, Reese puts in some hours as an instructor at the police academy in order to keep an eye on a rookie cop whose number is up. Rookie Silva appears to be a model recruit, before Reese sees her snooping through her fellow rookies' things, but as they follow up they realise that she is a young cop recruited to work undercover for IA preventing the Brotherhood getting a toehold in the police and creating a whole new HR situation.

Unfortunately, although she locates her mole the Brotherhood is as ever ahead of the competition. Reese foils an attempt on her life - right in front of his shrink and in the middle of a conversation about his hero complex - and so they frame her for the murder of her handler and steal the evidence of her real identity, while getting the mole to steal intelligence files on their own rival, Elias.

Badass.
With the aid of Bear - this week playing heavy weapons specialist and diving ace - Reese and Silva rescue the mole from certain death and are able to get Silva cleared and her identity reinstated. Unfortunately, this still leaves the Brotherhood with huge influence and a passel of information on Elias' network, and Elias as Team Machine's next number.

Even worse, the Blonde Bombshell - a former Hague investigator, as Greer drops awkwardly into conversation - is on Shaw's trail, tracking her through her former crew and their crime dating app and finally making her at the mall using Samaritan's partial image (a triumph for human intelligence in Samaritan's digital world.)
