Person of Interest - 'Wingman' and 'Brotherhood'

There's a special delight in the no-shits-given approach of Fusco undercover.
Since that's how Channel 5 be rolling, it's time for another double bill of Person of Interest.

In 'Wingman', Fusco goes undercover with the titular professional, whose business is teaching men to be successful in love. Andre Cooper is no mere pick-up artist, focusing on teaching socially awkward men to be more confident and outgoing, but his past is sketchier. He mysteriously quit working on the docks and started his own business round about the time when a shipment went missing.

The terrible Mr Egret.
While Shaw backs up Fusco, Reese must work overtime to impress the new Captain after his penchant for kneecapping, while seen as soft serve for a government hitman, lands him in trouble. He goes to work closing cases, even without his partner. In plot three, root takes Harold on a scavenger hunt to provide Team Machine with an operating budget, by way of an anti-tank rocket and the Latvian mob.

The highlights of this episode are Fusco's undercover antics (his total refusal to commit to any kind of role is endlessly hilarious) and Harold slipping with barely a blink into the role of 'Mr Egret', a mercenary urban legend.

Oh, yay! Children in peril.
'Brotherhood' unsurprisingly sees the further development of this season's villains of interest; the Brotherhood, a street gang with all-pervasive influence and deep pockets. Searching for a pair of children who have snatched a bag of cash from a drug-deal gone bad, Reese partners up with a DEA agent who warns him that the gang have people in every law enforcement agency; it is hardly a surprise then when she turns out to be their person in the DEA.
Bromance!

The kids are trying to use the cash to get their mother out of jail by paying for a high price lawyer, but have brought down the wrath of the Brotherhood. While Reese fights off a group of Brotherhood goons with the help of his partner, Fusco, Shaw goes after their leader, Dominic, using an injured heavy named Mini. She is able to get enough leverage to free Reese and the kids, but in a twist ending we learn that Mini is Dominic.

Aptly enough, given the similarity of Dominic's introduction to that of Elias, we get to see everyone's favourite Mafioso back in action, providing some guidance on dealing with the Brotherhood and grilling Harold over the way the world has changed. If he carries on like that, he might get a visit from a certain terribly English blonde or her associates.
