Dark Matter - 'We Voted Not to Space You'

You did something different with your hair...
Buckle up kids; it's time for vengeance.

The Android goes undercover, using Victor's upgrade to act more human as she gets arrested in order to hack a GA termianl, then roughs up a bar full of criminals to get a lead on One's killer. They get a location for One's... doppelganger? Is there a word for the original of which a doppelganger is the dopple? They get a location for Jace Corso, but with it a warning that he's gone way paranoid and holed up in a bunker full of guns. As smooth as the operation is, however, GA pursuivant Chief Inspector Kierken is hot on their trail, using the data they hacked to follow them to Corso's out of the way hideout.

Badasses! Iiin! Spaaace!!!
The Raza flits to Corso's hideout and Two, Three and Four head down in the marauder, along with Nyx, who insists that they're crew, so their fight is hers. This also kind of echoes some earlier business where the Android insists she wants to help find One's killer because 'he was one of us', and the crew debate whether Six can be considered such anymore. Kierken's cruiser arrives, forcing the Android to bring the ship in to land in a high-risk manoeuvre.

"Will it work?"
"Hopefully."
"I thought androids were supposed to be a little more precise than 'hopefully'."
"I do know the exact odds. Believe me; 'hopefully' sounds better."

Corso blows his base and everyone gets trapped in the tunnels. Four is forced to try to deal with Kierken, who is content to wait for rescue; or not. Nyx saves Three, thanks to what pretty much seems to be precognition. Two forces Corso to dig their way out, and despite his claim that they won't find who truly hired him without him, shoots him in the head. Then, with the arrival of Five, Six and Devon in the marauder, they spring Four from Kierken's custody and head out.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Which I am."
In the aftermath, they ponder who might have employed Corso, and the Android talks to her hologram, who thinks that the upgrade is just another symptom of a program glitch which also caused her to mess up the reentry manoeuvre, damaging the ship.

I hope that this indicates that 'human mode' will be at most an occasionally change of pace. Zoie Palmer is just as awesome as the newly humanised Android, but... I miss the old Android. There was something very affecting about her eyes-only acting, and it was a very different performance. It's not often you can say that a show has more badass female characters than it knows what to do with, but the Android's hyper-controlled facade was what set her apart from Two and from newcomer Nyx. Kierken, however, is a nice addition as an antagonist. A hard-core professional, committed to the ideals of the GA whether or not the GA as a whole is riddled with corruption, who checks on his dead partner after a cave-in and doesn't make deals for his own survival.
